Strathclyde Safety Camera partnership

The  ‘Know your Limits’ playing cards have been produced as part of a wider campaign to promote an awareness of the speed limits that apply on the roads so that  drivers do not accidentally become speeders. In particular, I have distributed some 2,000 packs of the cards around the vehicle depots of 12 councils where they are being used by local authority drivers in the recreational setting of their rest rooms to encourage them to stick within the limits. They are also being given out to companies with driving employees. I have had many positive comments on the effectiveness of the playing cards as an educational resource and I have recommended them to colleagues around the  country.

Strathclyde Safety Camera Partnership is a joint-working initiative to help reduce the number of road crash casualties at recognised accident locations in the West of Scotland.

Young people’s education on drugs, alcohol & tobacco is at its most effective if it takes a variety of forms. From theatre groups to curriculum packages to peer support programmes – all have their part to play. Educational playing cards are utilised as a part of this process. The beautifully produced cards, organised by our local DAAT, contain a variety of appropriate health messages alongside contact details for a range of national & local support agencies, including Visions, Hounslow’s dedicated young peoples drug & alcohol support service.
